The women’s qualifying tournament is being played on September 12–13, with four players earning places in the main draw. The 32-player women’s singles main draw begins on September 14, while the championship match is scheduled for Sunday, September 20.

São Paulo Open Tournament Evolution

The current São Paulo Open is one of the newest tournaments on the WTA calendar, although the city has a much longer history of hosting professional women’s tennis.

• 2000: São Paulo staged its previous WTA-level event before women’s tour tennis disappeared from the city for 25 years.
• 2025: The SP Open brought the WTA Tour back to São Paulo as a WTA 250 played on outdoor hard courts at Parque Villa-Lobos.
• 2026: The SP Open returns for its second edition with a 32-player singles draw, 16-player qualifying draw and 16-team doubles draw.

São Paulo Open 2026 WTA Draw & Bracket

Main Draw

The São Paulo Open 2026 women’s singles draw contains 32 players competing across five rounds.

Unlike the 28-player Guadalajara Open taking place during the same week, there are no first-round byes in São Paulo. Every player must win five matches to become champion.

The field includes direct acceptances and replacements, four wildcards and four qualifiers from the 16-player qualifying tournament.

Tereza Valentova, Yulia Putintseva, Jil Teichmann and Yue Yuan were among the names appearing on earlier tournament entry information but are not present in the published 32-player main draw.

Laura Pigossi moved into the tournament through direct entry after initially receiving a wildcard, allowing Gabriela Cé to receive that main-draw wildcard instead.

About the São Paulo Open

The SP Open is a WTA 250 tournament played on outdoor hard courts at Parque Villa-Lobos in São Paulo, Brazil.

The tournament was introduced in 2025 and restored WTA-level tennis to São Paulo after a 25-year absence. The 2026 edition is the tournament’s second staging and features a 32-player singles draw, 16-player qualifying draw and 16-team doubles competition.

Qualifying takes place on September 12–13, with the main draw running from September 14–20.
