• 1990: The fifth and final Athens Trophy is held before the tournament disappears from the WTA calendar
• 2026: Women’s tour-level tennis returns to Greece for the first time since 1990 with the inaugural Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open, a WTA 250 hard-court tournament at the Stadion Sports Center in Marousi
