Iga Swiatek’s off-season has briefly shifted from baseline drills to baking trays. From her home in Poland, the world No.2 shared a glimpse of her Christmas build-up on Instagram Stories, posting photos of an afternoon spent making traditional holiday cookies.
It was a softer snapshot from a player more often associated with ruthless efficiency than icing sugar. With the competitive calendar paused, Swiatek is making use of the rare downtime before packing her bags for Australia, giving fans a look at a quieter, domestic side of her winter routine.
A Festive Pause Before the Reset
The timing is no accident. Swiatek closed 2025 with a season that mixed dominance with unfinished business. She lifted three titles, including Wimbledon, and reached at least the semifinals at six other tournaments, among them the Australian Open and Roland Garros. Yet the year ended abruptly at the WTA Finals, where she exited in the round-robin stage.

January will arrive quickly. Swiatek’s season begins at the United Cup on January 5, where she will again partner Hubert Hurkacz in pursuit of a title that slipped away in the finals of both 2024 and 2025. The larger target, though, remains Melbourne.
The Australian Open is the one major still missing from her résumé. She has never gone beyond the semifinals there, and it stands as the final piece needed to complete a career Grand Slam. For now, though, the focus is simpler: cookies in the oven, Christmas at home, and a brief pause before the chase resumes.
