Petra Kvitova’s life after tennis has taken a joyful new turn.

The two-time Wimbledon champion announced the birth of her twin daughters, Emma and Ella, marking a new chapter less than a year after stepping away from professional tennis.

A growing family in Prague

Kvitova confirmed the news via social media, sharing that Emma and Ella were born on March 30 in Prague.

The 36-year-old has long kept her private life away from the spotlight, and true to form, the announcement came only after the birth. According to local reports, the twins were delivered shortly after 13:00, with both mother and children in good health.

The arrivals add to Kvitova’s family alongside her son Petr, born in July 2024, making her now a mother of three.

A new chapter after tennis

The timing feels fitting.

Kvitova formally brought her playing career to a close in 2025, shortly before announcing her first pregnancy — a decision that effectively marked the end of her time on tour. Any thoughts of a comeback following motherhood were eventually set aside, as injuries and shifting priorities pointed her firmly towards life beyond competition.

Her career, however, leaves little need for a sequel.

A legacy defined by power and poise

Kvitova departs the sport as one of the defining players of her generation.

A former world No. 2, she claimed 31 WTA titles, with her Wimbledon triumphs in 2011 and 2014 standing as the centrepieces of a career built on aggressive left-handed shot-making and fearless first-strike tennis.

She was also a cornerstone of the Czech Republic’s success in the Billie Jean King Cup, contributing to one of the most dominant national teams of the modern era.

From Centre Court to family life

For a player who once thrived under the brightest lights, the focus has now shifted entirely.

With Emma and Ella joining the family, Kvitova’s priorities lie firmly away from the court — a transition she has embraced with the same clarity that defined her tennis.

A different stage, but no less meaningful.
